As it is, I've gotten it to the point where the characters are formatted correctly, all I have to do is convert the string into a tone but I don't know how to do that. I can type in a number for the empty string volume_string, but then when I delete numbers, I always get a blank box if I delete too many. I'm working on a function where the player can make enter a set of values to form a window colour. The main problem is that whenever I try to use real() in order to turn, say, volume_string into a real number so I can have it interact with the code like: volume = real(volume_string) Right now that technically means I can type in 999, but that's a different problem for another time. The above allows me to only type in numbers, and only 3 of them. I think you are trying to input a number into a field that only takes strings (text).
